Since the end of the 19th century, the Ferris wheel or, as it is also called the "Ferris wheel", has become one of the favorite entertainment of the townspeople. Rarely does anyone give up the opportunity to see the city and its surroundings from a bird's eye view.

The answer to the question of where is the highest ferris wheel in Russia, you will find in our top 10 attractions in height. We hope that when you familiarize yourself with the data on the height of a particular Ferris wheel, you will not have an attack of acrophobia.

  • 10. "Seventh Heaven" Central Park, Ufa - height 48 meters
  • 9. "Five Stars" Rainbow Park, Yekaterinburg; park them. Gorky, Perm; Sky 33 Central Park of Culture and Rest, Vladimir - 50 m
  • 8. "Dymkovo joy" Park them. Kirova, Kirov - 51 m
  • 7. Park them. Gorky, Krasnodar - 52 m
  • 6. “Kirlay”, Kazan; Divo Ostrov St. Petersburg - 55 m
  • 5. “Iremel” Kirovsky District, Ufa - 60 m
  • 4. "Around the World" Kazan, "One Sky" Rostov-on-Don - 65 m
  • 3. Moscow - 73 m
  • 2. “360” Embankment of the Miass River, Chelyabinsk - 73 m
  • 1. Lazarevsky Park, Sochi - 83 m

10. "Seventh Heaven" Central Park, Ufa - height 48 meters

Opens the list of the highest ferris wheels in Russia, an attraction under the poetic name "Seventh Heaven." This is the first (but not the last) ferris wheel in the country, accessible to vacationers all year round. Do not be afraid to freeze in winter or suffocate from the heat in summer - cabins for 6 people are heated and air-conditioned. And thanks to the spectacular night illumination, the wheel itself has become one of the attractions of the city.

You can even rent a wheel for weddings or other events, or rent individual cabins for a romantic date at an altitude.

9. Gorky, Perm; Sky 33 Central Park of Culture and Rest, Vladimir - 50 m

All three wheels are equal in height to the seventeen-story house, and can be seen from them far. They say that from the top of the Ferris wheel with the intriguing name "Sky 33" in Vladimir, you can admire not only the views of the city, but also most of the region.

And "Five Stars" (the so-called Ferris wheel in Yekaterinburg) is on a hill, so you can see from it even further.

Perm Ferris wheel is also built on a hill - one of the highest points in the city. By the way, seeing how popular the Ferris wheel is among Permians, the park's management went to meet the lovers and extended the night hours of the attraction.

8. Kirova, Kirov - 51 m

The Kirov wheel in the list of the largest Ferris wheels in Russia appeared recently, only six months ago - at the end of April 2017. By the way, the name “Dymkovo joy” is temporary (and really, nothing in the design of the wheel reminds of the craft of the Kirov region), and the townspeople have yet to choose a suitable name for the attraction.

A new attraction works seven days a week, and you can ride it from 10 a.m. to ten in the evening.

7. Gorky, Krasnodar - 52 m

Just one meter ahead of the Dymkovo joy Krasnodar wheel, located in a small park in the city center. Among the minuses of the wheel should be attributed to closed cabs - for most of the ferris wheels present in the rating, the cabs are completely glass and the view from them is better. However, since August 2017, Krasnodar cabins have been undergoing modernization, so perhaps vacationers can still enjoy an unobstructed view of their hometown.

6. “Kirlay”, Kazan; Divo Ostrov St. Petersburg - 55 m

For several years, the Ferris wheel in the Kazan Klay Park held the palm until it was replaced by a newer and higher one (it is in fourth place in our rating). And the St. Petersburg wheel is the heir to the previous one, with a height of "only" 27 m.

In 2013, it was decided to replace the wheel with a larger and more modern one. But there is unconfirmed information that Petersburgers will soon receive another ferris wheel of a truly titanic scale - 170 meters high. Some St. Petersburg residents are outraged - they threaten to install the wheel in the park of the 300th anniversary of St. Petersburg. And the point is not even in the wheel itself, but in the abundance of commercial structures around it, which threaten to deprive the townspeople of trees and grass.

5. “Iremel” Kirovsky District, Ufa - 60 m

It seems that Ufa residents, like Kazan, love ferris wheels very much. Each of the cities can boast of having two giant wheels at once, included in the rating of the highest observation wheels in Russia.

The new wheel, called “Iremel,” initially confused the Ufa residents - it was built almost in a residential area of the city. “What to look there, except for residential high-rise buildings,” thought the townspeople and made a mistake. From a height of 58 meters (and this is not a typo, it has a maximum point of view) all the significant sights of the city are clearly visible, including the House of the Republic and the Friendship Monument.

4. "Around the World" Kazan, "One Sky" Rostov-on-Don - 65 m

Both wheels have poetic names - if Kazan carries "Around the World", then Rostov flaunts under the name "One Sky". It is located in the Park of the Revolution and, apart from its impressive height, also has impressive prices. A ticket purchased from 10 to 12 in the morning will cost the least (150 rubles), a day ticket is more expensive, in the afternoon it is even more expensive, and the most expensive (250 rubles) ticket will be purchased by those who want to ride the Ferris wheel from 5 pm until two in the night. On holidays and weekends, a ticket will also cost 250 rubles at any time of the day.

And the Kazan wheel is called "Around the World" for a reason. Each of the 36 booths is dedicated to one of the cities in the world (for example, three French, and five Russian).

You can travel around the globe in just 18 minutes, while admiring the beautiful views of Kazan from a bird's eye view.

3. Moscow - 73 m

This wheel was once the highest in Russia, but what's in Russia - Europe (until in 1999 the laurels moved to the 90-meter wheel in Italy).

His fate is sad - because of a showdown between tenants and the All-Russian Exhibition Center management in 2016, it was decided to dismantle the wheel. But Muscovites should not be sad - they are promised a new, even larger wheel with a height of 135-140 m, although it can not be compared with the largest ferris wheel in the world.

2. “360” Embankment of the Miass River, Chelyabinsk - 73 m

Just a year ago, in January 2017, the second among the highest observation wheels in Russia, called “360”, opened. Despite the Siberian frosts, the Ferris wheel also works in winter - this makes it a leader in the list of wheels working all year. And the entrance to the wheel will be through a special indoor and heated passage.

1. Lazarevsky Park, Sochi - 83 m

You can see this titanium wheel from afar, even from the most remote outskirts of the city of Sochi. No wonder, because its height is 83 m, which makes the attraction the highest ferris wheel in Russia. From the top you can admire the magnificent landscapes of the Black Sea, the resort towns surrounding Sochi, and the Caucasus Mountains.

True, visitors complain that it is impossible to take photographs from the top of the wheel - the views are so beautiful that they are breathtaking, and a person forgets everything.
